Another Chance With Love by Blake Allwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Author:
After reading two more books of this author I believe I can honestly say that he is going on my future must read list. I’ve just finished the third book in a row (only one book interruption) by this author, and they are all five stars reads.
Story:
If you liked the first story in this series, you are so going to love this one. It’s like a continuation of the story but with other main characters as well as a completely different story that will surprise you on so many levels. I completely fell in love with it from the first moment. I’m not going to say I’m not a fan of sequels, because that would be a lie, but I do believe that the author has to be extremely carefull not just to copy the storyline from the first book on the the following in the series. Blake Allwood mastered creation this book to perfection.
Main characters:
While we do revisit a few characters from the first book, one of them (or maybe two) ends up taking a leading role in this book. You may resent Peters mom in the first book, but you’ll get to know her from a whole different prespective and I fell a little bit in love with her, even if I found her to be a completely bitch in the first book and just wanted to strangle her. There really isn’t much to say about the others only that they are amazing. Also while you may resent Peter (Martin’s ex) I believe you’ll fall in love with him as well.
Story:
Let there be no doubt that Blake Allwood has a way with words and the ability to create beautiful stories that will hold you captured. This one is no exception, it has every thing I love. Fun, love a bit of sex (not too much), hold your breath moments and happiness. What more can you wish for in a book, I really don’t know. I really hope and prey that there will be a third book, I’ll keep waiting for it.

Another five star read
Love By Chance by Blake Allwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Author
Blake Allwood is starting to be one of my favorite authors. I’ve read a few books before all of them five stars reads.
Story
This was a slow read for me, I’m normally a fast reader, but for some reason I had, I don’t know, linger at every word. That’s not a bad thing if you’re starting to think that, no. The story is very well written and I loved every bit of it, the flow is great and I love that you do not get the answers to all your questions until the end. Throughout the story you keep wondering what will happen between the two main characters, and let me just tell you, you do get your HEA.
Main characters
I can’t really figure out if there are two or maybe three mc’s. Mainly because Peter the ex keeps popping up throughout the story. But mainly it’s the romance between Martin and Elian. I find Martin sometimes too hard on Elian and that he’s holding a bit too much on to the past. He faults Elian for something that’s really not fair and makes too many rules in my opinion.
But it works for the story, though it’s a bit annoying.
Elian, if we all met an Elian I have no doubt that we would fall in love with him. He is so sweet and hot (according to Martin). At times I ask my self if a guy, in love or not, would take that many boundaries set up. But then again it works for the story.
Despite my reservations above I really did love the story and it a five star rating from me.

Great story, but not a five star
Forever by Kindle Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I’m going with four start because I’m a nice guy and I really, really liked the story and the main characters. However brutally honest I probably would have chosen three stars, why?
Again I loved the story so much. I love both Robert and Landon, Autumme and Nonnie I think a lot of people who have waited for this book for so long. After Always we all kind of wondered what happened. And you get it in this book or at least some of it, you don’t actually get the forever part, because the book doesn’t end like the first one. I still hope for a third. I was really heartbroken at times I even cried a little, simply because of the gestures the Adams family showed Landon, I loved that so much.
Now back to the rating: The reason for my dislike is that I fell that the author falles into what I refer to as the “sex pit” I don’t really know another word for it. I feel like the most of the middel section of the book (from where they reconnect to almost to where Landon is transferred) is about sex. But when the sex descriptions takes over the story and not the other way around I get bored. They had sex in the office, in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, bedroom again, you get the point. I don’t know why they do it, is it because it’s easier to write about the sex that writing the story, I don’t really know (I wish I did). Now I done it before, I just flip through the descriptions, and with other books I found out later I missed vital parts of the the story because I was included in the descriptions of the sexual acts, I just can’t be bothered to be honest. I feel like it could be so easily solved, why not just write “They went into the bedroom/the kitchen/office/bathroom where Robert made love to Landon for/in a hurry/hours/ until they were both exhausted. Robert woke up the next morning looking at his now husband.” you get my point? Let the story be the main focus not the sex.
I would have loved for the story to continue, maybe let them grow old together like in the first book. Let the children grow up and maybe be the base for the next book, let the family legacy continue.
The story is very Kindle Alexander, very well written I will give you that. I not quite sure whether it will be a reread for me only time will tell.

The Mating of Michael
The Mating of Michael by Eli Easton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I been thinking really hard about rating this one. Two ore three stars, I ended on three starts because I really do believe it’s an amazing and beautiful story.
Michael is a sex surrogate (we’ll get back to that in a minute) and a nurse. James is a writer though somewhat failing you could say. He hasn’t been writing anything good in years and is still hung up on his first publication witch was very succesfull. James has polio and is bound to a wheelchair and extremely self conscious. James agrees to do a book signing where the two meets for the first time. Michale being shy (you don’t really see that much in the book, but the author says that he is). James is the affection of Michal and with a bit of help the two are brought together. But with that also the drama.
Now I loved the story, I really did, I think it’s well done and the story line is amazing, but:
1) Michael is a nurse. You do NOT and I repeat you do not disclose who your patients are. I don’t know the American law on this, but I’m pretty sure that it’s a breach of confidentiality it you tell their names and what’s wrong with them. Now if you did that with a partner you have been with for years I could understand that, but they only just met, so that’s a no go.
2) The sex surrogate – sorry I don’t get it. I actually had to Google it to find out if it was real. Call it with you want, but to me it just glorified prostitution. Maybe I shouldn’t fault the author, maybe I’m just being a prude, it just doesn’t set well with me.
3) Cheating. It’s kind of funny how some people try to justify cheating. No you and I may not be in a relationship, yet, but if this is going anywhere you don’t sleep with others. When Michale does his surrogate “work” and is not telling James about it, sorry guys that’s cheating to me. You can tell me a millon times it’s not, but unless you talk about it and decide on an open relationship it is cheating to me and I just can’t let that go.
I wold have liked a bit more drama with Jame’s mother, it was over a bit too fast, what she did is not easy forgiven.
The story is great and I really and truly loved both characters, but see above why it only got three stars.

I’ve been absent

I’ll admit it. I’ve been absent for a while. Due to a few things actually. One I had a lot going on at word – I never stoped reading though but I just didn’t feel like I had the time to write reviews and post them. Secondly and probably the most important reason is that I found that reviewing books clouded my judgement of the books, you could say that it became my main focus. I always read a lot, I love books and I love reading them, but I started to look at the stories from a different perspective, like the review was more important than the book. You could say that I lost my ability to love the story. I had to find my way back to what it is all about, the great romances, the great stories and last but not least my love for reading them.
I am still making my way back. I think the break has given me a perspective on how to do this, read the story and if I feel like sharing my opinion I’ll do so, but that’s not really the point anymore, the point is the reading.
I still want to be a millionaire so I won’t have to work. I still want to stay up late at night (I am a night owl and always have been). But I still have to get up in the morning and go to work. Reviewing for a living – I thought about that, but I really think I would destroy my love for the stories and the books. I just don’t think I have it in me. I would rather just bee the guy reading and reviewing whenever I can.
I’ll try not to leave you again, I kinda promise ❤️
Crashing Upwards ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Crashing Upwards by S.C. Wynne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I’ve just finished reading one book about one guy doing something good for a fellow man and fall in love with him. I don’t really know witch book I liked the best, but let me tell you, this one is absolutely amazing.
Harper is a biker courier, by accident he gets run over but Sam whos been having a crush from afar on Harper for a while. Despite his fathers warnings that Harper is set out to exploit Sam, Sam still wants to take care of Harper and help him get back on his feet before he can retur to his job. Little by little even if Harper is fighting against it they slowly fall in love. But so much is thrown at Harper all the time, and he can’t believe that a senetors son would even be remotely interested in him, why would he be?
I loved this book so much. Actually so much that I wish I was a millionaire so I would have to work but could stay up all night and just read, that I would have to go to work the day after, I don’t want to put this book down before I finished. Both main characters are so loveable. Sam for all his good deeds without inhabitations and Harper, well just because his is Harper, read the book and you will understand what I’m talking about. This book is what you could call ‘I’ll worm my way into your heart romance.’ And of cause with a happy ending, just the way I like them. The story and the development the things that are thrown their way and the background stories of them both is so catching.
I would have loved if Harper actually would have meet his parents in the end and rub his relationship with Sam in their faces (I know, I can’t help being a cruel bitch sometimes).
Amazing read.

Author anxiety

Do you ever get author anxiety or readers anxiety? What would that be AXT or RNX, well I don’t know, its not really as far as I know a diagnose officially so don’t put too much into it.
The thing is, when I read multiple books by the same author that I really really liked I sometimes can’t get my self to read the next book. It’s usually not in the same series because that one is easy, you really just need to know how the story ends. No its when you start a totally new book that hasn’t anything to do with the others. I get scared that it might not bee as good as the last, that I might not even like it, waste my time on it, those kind of feelings.
I know it irrational, of cause it is, but I really can’t help it. I keep postponing the book and usually I kick my butt because I waited. Luckily for me it doesn’t happen that often, but still it happens and I hate it.
I guess that some authors feel the same sometimes, if they really had a hit. Will we, the readers like it. I don’t really know for sure how they feel, it’s just a wild guess.
No resting on the laurels when it comes to reading

When it comes to books and reading I’m not known for resting on the laurels… Just finished a series, still need to write a review for the last one. But off I am to the next one, Today by RJ Scott I’ve been looking forward to this one. However the first book was a bit disappointing for me, I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️ on Goodreads, that for before blog so you won’t find a review here. But I hope this one is better.

I’m been quiet for a while
I know I should apologise for not posting a review for some time, and I do apologise for that. However I’m been busy. Last week was pride week – I gave you a daily rainbow update that I hope you saw.
Unfortunately my job isn’t to read, I so wish it was. Nor have I won the lottery so I can laze around and read all day. Nope, I have a real job, a job that takes a lot of my time, so that’s basically the reason for my absence. I only have time to read when I’m off, so on my way to work (bus and metro) and on my way home as well some to the evening, but reading takes time, and while being a fast reader I can only read so much.
But I’m back and will post a review shortly. Thank you for being patient.

Day seven rainbows
